Phytodiversity of Gorabanda Sacred Grove, Alluri Sitharama Raju District, Andhra Pradesh, India

Abstract

The study focused on exploring the angiosperm diversity of the Gorabanda sacred grove in Andhra Pradesh, India. A total of 70 angiosperm species belonging to 60 genera and 29 families were reported in the grove. Notably, one species (Dalbergia latifolia Roxb.) is Vulnerable, one species (Aegle marmelos (L.) Corrêa,) is Near Threatened and 21 species fall under Least Concern as per the IUCN criteria. The grove is facing threats from invasive alien species and anthropogenic activities. Conservation efforts should be prioritized to protect this valuable grove.
