Eight new additions to the Orchid flora of Tripura, NE India

Abstract

Eight species of orchids namely Coelogyne stricta (D. Don) Schltr, Dendrobium fimbriatum var. oculatum Hook, Dendrobium primulinum Lindl., Didymoplexis pallens Griff, Eria amica Rchb.f., Eulophia graminea Lindl, Oberonia mucronata (D. Don) Ormerod & Seidenf, and Vanda testacea (Lindl.) Rchb. f. representing seven genera has been added to the orchid flora of Tripura for the first time. A detailed taxonomic description, geographical location and an illustration with photographs of each species are provided for easy identification and habitat tracking in future.
