The Genus Wightia Wall. in India with a discussion on its Systematic Position
Abstract
The paper deals with the taxonomy and distribution of the genus Wightia Wall. in india. A discussion on the systematic position of the genus is presented. It is suggested here that the tribe Paulownieae (including Paulownia Sieb. & Zucc., Wightia Wall., and Brandisia Hook. f. & Thoms.) should be removed from the Scrophulariaceae and assigned its proper place in the Bignoniaceae. An emended and amplified description of the tribe Paulownieae Pennell emend. Maheshwari, is also given.Downloads
